Fiacre was founded by Drs. Michael Timko and Bryan Berger, recognized leaders in the fields of hemp agronomy, extraction and processing.
Fiacre’s founders are uniquely qualified in the Commonwealth of Virginia to facilitate high value industrial hemp growth, and specific aspects of processing. They are respected experts in their fields, have grown industrial hemp in Virginia for four years, have access to demonstrated quality industrial hemp seed, and experience with a novel (higher yield and purity) extraction techniques.
Michael P. Timko, PhD: Founder, President and Chief Scientific Officer.
Internationally recognized expert in biology, genetics and functional genomics as well as economic botany/plant biology. He has authored or co-authored over 150 research papers, book chapters, and review articles and is the holder of multiple US and world-wide patents in agricultural and nutritional biotechnology. Leading the licensed Industrial Hemp program for UVA, Michael Timko has developed relationships with growers, suppliers, regulators, and has developed cost-effective, quality, testing and evaluation techniques.
Bryan W. Berger, PhD: Founder, Vice President and Chief Engineer.
Bryan Berger led the formation of the Industrial Hemp research program at Lehigh University and worked directly with state, private and non-profit partners to develop new approaches for hemp processing to products. He brings extensive experience in design, formulation and biomanufacturing of biologics and natural products such as terpenes and has been an invited speaker at the Emerald Conference on the Science of Cannabis, Scientific Expert Series at MJBizCon and Cannabis World Expo and Conference. Most recently, Bryan is co-founder of Lytos Technologies, an early-stage, NSF-supported start-up pioneering green, organic biofungicides to protect high-value agricultural crops pre-harvest including cannabis.
